Must win clash for Turkey and Czech Republic

Both Czech Republic and Turkey still have a chance of qualifying for the knockout stage of Euro 2016, but only a win will do for either side when they close out Group D in Lens on Tuesday.

This will be the 20th meeting between the teams – a one-sided fixture thus far, with Czech Republic winning 12 of the previous 19 clashes, while Turkey have triumphed just four times.

There have been 31 goals in the last nine clashes – at least two goals have been scored in each of those.

If goalkeeper Petr Cech plays, he will equal Karel Poborsky’s Czech record for the most games at major tournaments with 17.

Turkey haven’t kept a clean sheet at the Euros since a 2-0 win over Belgium at Euro 2000 – they’ve conceded 15 goals in eight games since then.

And the Turks have had a player booked in each of their last 17 games at major tournaments, last avoiding a booking against Italy at Euro 2000.
