Muyoti says Homeboyz still in title race

Kakamega Homeboyz coach has rued dropped points during their 1-1 draw with Bandari FC at Mbaraki Grounds but says they are still firmly in the Kenyan Premier League title race.

Homeboyz were unable to capitalise on Gor Mahia FC’s shock 3-1 defeat at Sofapaka and their own slip allowed Tusker FC to leapfrog them into second after they defeated AFC Leopards 1-0 yesterday.

Speaking after their draw in Mombasa Kakamega Homeboyz coach Nicholas Muyoti said they must collect maximum points in their remaining fixture if they are to pose any threat to the two leading teams.

“Our game plan is still on course and winning our away fixture will be key to it”, said Muyoti.

Homeboyz are level on points with Tusker but trail the Brewers on goal difference while champions Gor are three points clear at the summit on 44 points.

On his side Bandari Team Manager Wilson Obungu has urged their strikers to make use of the many created chance as they are still trying to regain their momentum.

The former Kenya international Goalkeeper lament on their rues chances which they created more than their rivals.

“The players went against the coach’s instructions and resulting to the equaliser but also we must score what we create”.

The dockers are still in position 11 and will be at home again on Wednesday when they host KCB in their game in hand.
