Bandari FC will be carrying their Kenyan Premier League excellent form to Tanzania, club’s head coach Bernard Mwalala has warned ahead of the Super Cup knockout tournament.

Mwalala was back at the dugout in the 1-0 win against Posta Rangers at Mbaraki Sports Club having been away on compassionate leave for two weeks following his father’s demise and the tactician is full of confidence that his charges has what it takes to flourish in the tournament.

At the same time, the youthful tactician has stressed the importance of leapfrogging Mathare United at the top of the KPL table noting that will be a catalyst for his side when they leave Mombasa for the tournament.

“The big motivation comes as a result of our recent matches, we are heading to Tanzania as KPL leaders, that gives us strength for the Super Cup matches,” Said Mwalala.

This will be the first time the coastal based side will be participating in the tournament since its inauguration in Dar es Salaam in 2017.

And ahead of their debut show, Mwalala has sent a warning to their opponents Singida United whom they tackle on the opening day on January 22, noting that he’s devised a plan to tame the struggling Tanzania Premier League outfit.

“ I lived in Tanzania for quite some time and I know them(Singida Utd).  I know their way of play and we have a plan for them. They have been performing poorly this season and we are going to take advantage of that and I believe we are going to beat them,”a confident Mwalala charged.

The 2019 edition will feature Young Africans Sports Club(Yanga),Simba SC, Singida United and other debutants Mbao FC , all from Tanzania who will be joined by defending champions Gor Mahia, AFC Leopards, Kariobangi Sharks and Bandari FC from Kenya.

The winner of the third edition will pocket USD 30,000(Ksh. 3 million) while runners-up will take home USD 10,000.
