Mwalala praying for better luck against Azam

Bandari FC head coach Bernard Mwalala is praying for better luck as they prepare to face Azam SC on Friday in a clash that will determine their CECAFA Kagame Cup fate.

Bandari have won just two points from their opening matches at the competition and must win against the defending champions Azam in order to reach the quarter-finals.

Azam are in a similar situation as Bandari after they were on the receiving end of a shock 1-0 defeat to Ugandan champions KCCA although they could still progress with a draw.

“We have been kind of unlucky in our two opening matches since in both matches we were the first to score but somehow our opponents managed to come back.

“Mathematically we still have a chance of qualifying so fate is in our own hands and we have to be at our best,” Mwalala said.

KCCA top Group B with four points, one clear of second-placed Azam with Bandari and Mukura coming third and fourth on two and one point respectively.
