Mwalala would consider Homeboyz job

Former Bandari and Nzoia Sugar FC head coach Bernard Mwalala has said he would consider working with Kakamega Homeboyz but refused to say whether an approach on him had been made.

Mwalala has been linked to the job that could be vacated by the current head coach Nicholas Muyoti who is primed to join FKF Premier League rivals Wazito FC.

“My job is coaching and so whenever the opportunity will arise I will definitely consider it. I know that Homeboyz is currently coached by Muyoti and I haven’t heard anything new,” Mwalala said.

Mwalala was fired by Bandari following poor results in the 2019-2020 season and had helped lead the club to second – its highest ever league finish – the previous year. He also won the FKF Shield that year.

Homeboyz chairman Cleophas ‘Toto’ Shimanyula has already told Muyoti that he won’t block him from jumping into the Wazito ship if he received an offer.

The FKF Premier League is expected to start on November 20 pending the government’s approval depending with the Covid-19 pandemic situation in the country.
