Mwamba RFC continue their search for a new home ground following their eviction from the Nairobi Railway Club by the Government to create room for a bus terminus and the intended Expressway from Jomo Kenyatta National Airport to Westlands.

Mwamba have played at the stadium since its formation in 1977 and could end up having to share venues with a rival club for the coming season with sources confirming the Kenya Cup side has yet to identify a new stadium.

Some of Mwamba players have confirmed to Citizen Digital that they have not got any communication from the management about their new stadium.

“We’ve not received any communication about our new stadium next season but I understand the management is working out on the issue,” said Mwamba winger Daniel Taabu.

According to the Club Chairman George Mbaya, Mwamba are seeking to switch their home ground to Ngong Racecourse and negotiations are underway with another Kenya Cup Side Nondescript to share the facility in the Kenya Cup season 2021/2022.

He went ahead to plead with the government to help them find a new ground for a long term after evicting them from their home ground weeks ago.

Mwamba RFC last won the Kenya cup in 1983 and has produced rugby legends like Humprey Khayange and Collins Injera who is Kenya’s top try scorer in the HSBC World Rugby Series.
