After clinching the Dala Sevens title, Mwamba RFC is now aiming at the overall circuit title.

Mwamba were at their flawless best thumping Homeboyz RFC 17-0 at the Mamboleo grounds in Kisumu at the weekend to bag the title.

The Kevin Wambua led charges scored two unconverted tries through sensational winger Daniel Taabu and Kenya’s top try scorer in the HSBC Collins Injera to make it 10-0 by halftime before skipper Eliakin Kichoi wrapped the game with a converted try to make it 17-0 at full-time.

It was their first trophy this season after losing to the Deejayz in the finals of the Prinsloo and Sepetuka Sevens before losing to Nakuru RFC in the Driftwood Sevens.

Mwamba are 8 points behind the leaders Homeboyz who are 92 heading to the RFUEA grounds for the last leg of the circuit, the Christie 7s.

To win the circuit, Mwamba has to win the Christies Sevens and ensure that Paul Murunga’s charges don’t make it to the semi finals of the main cup.

Homeboyz has reached the semi finals in the last five outings winning the main cup trophy thrice in the opening rounds of the circuit.

After finishing fourth in Dala Sevens, KCB RFC stays third in the circuit with 81 points, eight ahead of Driftwood Sevens Champions Nakuru RFC who finished seventh in Kisumu.

Kabras close the top five best teams in the league with 57 points. The last leg of the circuit will be played this weekend at the RFUEA grounds.
