Mwamba RFC have inked a new kit deal with sportswear giants Samurai for the 2021 season.
Speaking to Citizen Digital, Mwamba RFC president Alvas Onguru clarified that the deal would see the Kulabu Pride ditch BLK who sponsored their kits last season.
“We have worked with Samurai for so many years before except last season when we didn’t partner with them.
What we have agreed on for now because of the Covid-19 circumstances, we will have fans pre-order our merchandise on our website and then we will see how much we can raise before the resumption of the regular season,” Onguru explained.
Onguru further noted that the amount of money the deal attracts will be partly dependent on how much they manage to raise through merchandise sale which includes replica jerseys, tracksuits, baseball caps, jackets among others.
Samurai chief executive Terry Sands expressed his delight in working with Mwamba RFC.
“Samurai are honoured to have been chosen once again by Stanbic Mwamba for this partnership, and we feel privileged to be involved with a club with Mwamba’s playing heritage and history.
“We look forward to serving both the club professionals and supporters with our matchday, training and leisure kit.”
Kulabu maintains its iconic black colour with fading grey hoops for the home strip with black shorts and black stockings. The away jersey, which is also used during the National Sevens Circuit, boasts of a risqué design that has dashes of orange, green and charcoal black over a blue background with black shorts and black stockings being maintained.
Headline sponsor Stanbic Bank continues with their support of the club for another season with their logo on the front of the two kits.
On the rear of the new strip, Modern Coast will keep their status as the official travelling sponsor for another season.
Supporters will access the new array of merchandise by making pre-orders online.
