In the heart of Kenya's athletic fervor, Boniface Mweresa, the reigning national 400m champion, sets his sights on the grandest stage of them all: the 2024 Paris Olympics.

With unwavering determination, Mweresa expresses his confidence in delivering outstanding performances should he secure a coveted spot at the Olympics.

Having experienced the sweet taste of victory as the gold medalist in the 4x400m relay at the African Games, Mweresa reveals that he and his teammates have intensified their training efforts, leaving no stone unturned in their quest for Olympic qualification.

"At the moment, the anxiety is high due to our recent performances, and people expect great things from us as we strive to qualify for the Olympics. We have elevated our training to ensure Olympic qualification."

At 30 years old, Mweresa nurtures dreams not only of participation but of excelling in individual races, aiming for a podium finish that would cement his name in Olympic history.

His dedication and focus exemplify the spirit of Kenyan athletics, where passion meets perseverance on the track.

"For now, my target is to compete in individual races, as opposed to the 4x400m relays. I aspire to compete against elite athletes and aim to finish as an Olympian finalist or medalist," Mweresa affirms.

However, the journey to Paris is fraught with challenges. Mweresa and the Kenyan team aim to secure their Olympic berth during the World Athletics Relay, where the competition is fierce, and only the top 14 teams will earn the privilege to compete at the Paris Games.
