Mwita double lifts Bandari past KCB

Johanna Mwita opened his Bandari FC account in memorable fashion, notching a two-minute brace to steer his side defeated KCB FC 2-1 at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

After a dull opening half that produced no goal, the former Sony Sugar found the back of the net and then doubled his money before Dennis Odhiambo scored a consolation goal for the Bankers.

The result took Bandari’s winning streak to three in a row and pushed them into 11th on the standings with 29 points, one shy Posta Rangers and Mathare United who are on 30 following their one-all draw in Narok.

Returning from the tunnel after a barren first half, coach Twahir Muhiddin introduced Nicholas Meja and Darius Msagha in place of Duncan Otewa and Shaban Kenga respectively.

Midfielder Danson Chetambe cut a low pass for the new signing who released a powerful shot past Gabriel Andika in the 59th minute.

Mwita needed only two minutes to score his second goal after being set up again this time by Collins Agade to assure three points for Bandari.

The host pulled one back through former Thika United skipper after Bandari defence failed to clear Baraka Badi cross 15 minutes before the final whistle.

The win still leaves Bandari in 11 position with 29 points one shy Posta and Mathare who are both on 30 points after a one all draw in Narok.
