The ‘Wanyore’ are also planning to sell their merchandise as part of their concerted effort to raise cash towards the burial of the departed star.

A statement from Nakuru RFC said, “The family proposed a date of 18 November for his burial, please mark that date and be with us for his last send off.”

Nakuru rugby family had its second meeting on Monday to honour Okombe. “It was noted with great concern that social media had turned his death into tribal bashing and hate in Kenya.

“Okombe did none of that and his name should not be used by bigots, haters and tribal merchants to spread their evil,” read the statement.

The club has undertaken to take up the costs of the hospital and transport of the body to Kakamega.

Okombe comes from a large family and was the eldest son. His small siblings were looking up to Okombe for their daily needs.
