Namibia out to defend title as KRU release Barthes Cup fixtures

The Kenya Rugby Union has released the fixtures of the 2019 edition of the U-20 Barthes Cup set for April 4-7 at the RFUEA grounds in Nairobi.

Namibia who emerged victorious last year on higher goal-average basis will be out to test the waters against Senegal in their first match of the tourney , after which Tunisia will gear up to face hosts Kenya.

The losers of the first matches will battle it out to secure third place as the triumphant teams in the first matches contest for the top spot on the last day of the tournament.

The winner of the four-team tournament will qualify for the 2019 junior world rugby trophy to be played in Brazil.

The Kenyan technical team comprises of Jimmy Mnene as the team manager, Mike Owino as the strength and conditioning coach and Stella Mwende taking charge of physio.
