Nanyuki added to national 7s series roster

Nanyuki 7s has been added to the National Rugby Sevens series for the first time in the 2016 calendar released by Kenya Rugby Union on Wednesday with six legs on the cards where KCB will be seeking to defend their title.

Nanyuki Sports Club will host top clubs on September 17 and 18 a week after the fifth round Christie 7s in Nairobi with the series kicking-off with Nakuru Athletics Club’s Prinsloo 7s- famously known as ‘Nax Vegas’.

Coincidentally, the national men and women’s sevens teams will be in Rio at the same time for the Olympic games in Brazil.

Nairobi’s RFUEA grounds will host the second leg with Mwamba RFC organizing the Kabeberi 7s August 13 and 14.

Teams will travel to Mombasa for the Driftwood 7s with Mombasa Sports Club staging the third leg on August 20 and 21.

The local series will take a one-week break before heading to Kisumu for the Dala 7s at Mamboleo Show Grounds on September 3 and 4.

The Safari Sevens which will double up as the Confederation of African Rugby, CAR 7s from September 23 to 25.

Second Leg: Kabeberi Sevens, RFUEA, Nairobi – August 13/14

Third Leg: Driftwood Sevens, Mombasa Sports Club, Mombasa – August 20/21

Fourth Leg: Dala Sevens,Mamboleo Showground, Kisumu  – September 3/4

Fifth Leg: Christie Sevens, RFUEA, Nairobi – September 10/11

Sixth Leg: Nanyuki Sevens, Nanyuki Sports Club – September 17/18

Safari Sevens/ Rugby Africa Sevens,Safaricom Stadium, Nairobi 23/24/25 September
