Ngugi upbeat Kenya will rule EA Secondary School games

Ahead of Saturday’s Federation of East Africa Secondary School Sports Association games in Gulu, Uganda, KSSSA Secretary General David Ngugi is confident Kenya will defend the overall title won in Eldoret, 2016.

Having clinched all titles apart from girls’ football in the last year’s edition, Kenya will send a total of 703 students in her bid to defend the regional glory.

Speaking to Citizen Digital on Monday evening, Ngugi confirmed some teams are already on their way to Uganda.

“Coast Region teams left earlier today for Busia, where the rest will report tomorrow for one day training before leaving for Gulu on Thursday morning. Friday will be a rest day and games begin on Saturday

“We are assembling in Busia to ensure all teams depart together. We are confident the teams are ready, with good preparation and the quality we saw during the nationals,” told Ngugi.

Friday will be resting day upon arrival in the Nothern Uganda town, before the championship kick-off a day later.
