Nigele brace keeps KCB’s promotion hopes alive

Kelvin Nigele bagged a brace as National Super League outfit KCB rallied from behind to silence Administration Police 3-1 at the Camp Toyoyo grounds in Nairobi, as the fight for promotion to the Kenyan Premier League intensifies.

Administration Police were quick off the blocks when forward Alemba Humphrey drilled from the spot in the fourth minute. Two minutes later, Kelvin Nigele equalized for the bankers through a deft finish from a counter attack.

In the 29th minute, Teddy Osok gave KCB a much needed lead ahead of the halftime break when he netted the third goal of the game to give the visitors a 2-1 lead.

Nigele then put the game to bed two minutes into second half when he scored his second of the game through a penalty in the 49th minute; to ensure that the Leonard Saleh coached side put the game beyond the reach of Administration Police.

The win temporarily hauled  KCB to the top spot on 70 points, one  ahead of Ushuru who play visitors to Talanta  at the same venue.

All top five teams Ushuru, KCB, Vihiga United, Wazito and Nairobi Stima, have a fighting chance of earning a promotion to the top division.
