Nike-Biwott-Rosa training camp unveiled in Kapsabet

The 2015 New York City marathon winner Stanley Biwott and Rosa Associati on Monday unveiled the Nike-Stanley Biwott-Rosa training camp in Kapsabet town in a function attended by top Kenyan athletics dignitaries.

Athletics Kenya (AK) President Lt. Gen (Rtd) Jackson Tuwei, Olympic marathon champions Eliud Kipchoge and Jemimah Sumgong were among those who came to witness what Biwott said would ‘polish and propel athletes into world and Olympic titles’.

The camp will supplement many athletes from Nandi County who have been seeking better facilities outside the region.

“The aim is to nurture talents and the target is those athletes from humble background. We will identify and nurture them to become the next generation of stars,” Biwott told Citizen Digital.

The facility includes a modern gym, bed spaces and physiotherapy departments with sports apparel company Nike to offer food and training kits.

The facility, situated at Kapsabet town which enjoys high altitude of 2000ft above sea level, is open to athletes from across the country.
