NSL leaders Vihiga look to hold off KCB charge

Vihiga United versus KCB will highlight round 11 of the National Super League (NSL) as the two clubs that came so close to earning promotion last season renew their rivalry at the Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos on Saturday.

Vihiga are in devastating form ahead of the clash, leading the NSL standings with 20 points despite having a game in hand but their weekend opponents could draw level with a win over the weekend.

Both sides come into the clash wielding a positive momentum in their title charge having won two of their last previous matches and keeping clean sheets in the process, making it a mouthwatering match-up.

Patrick Okulo was the hero for Vihiga during the last round when they floored Police FC 1-0 at the Mumias Complex in Kakamega County and will once again lead the line for Edward Manoa’s men.

For KCB, sixth on the log, a Chrispirius Onyango brace and a Dennis Nganga strike sealed a comfortable 3-0 win over MOSCA FC during their latest round at the Jericho Camp Toyoyo Grounds in Nairobi.

Vihiga club secretary Wyclife  Luvavo reiterated the team has done enough preparations and has hopes the team will continue with its winning mentality.

“We are ready and we will make sure we get three points so that we stay on top,” he told Citizen Digital.

Surprise package GFE 105 who are threatening to engage the reverse gear after a sensational start host Nairobi Stima in Eldoret seeking to bounce back to their winning ways.

Ushuru FC who were relegated from the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) last season and are bidding to scale their way back to the top flight will have a relatively easy match on their hands when they travel to Kibera Black Stars.
