SS Assad head coach Ali Maruma Mwachaunga is eyeing victory against Luanda Villa when the two sides clash in the National Super League (NSL) playoff on Sunday at Utalii grounds in Nairobi.

Kwale-based Assad finished second on FKF Division One Zone A table with Villa also finishing in a similar position in Zone B which meant the two would have to vie for the remaining slot in the country’s second-tier league.

Mwachaunga is adamant his side will emerge victorious.

“My boys have been training well and there are no injuries on my side. I believe we will collect the necessary points for NSL promotion on Sunday. I thank the Kwale fraternity for their moral support, I promise we shall bring victory at home,” Assad said.

The three dimensions of a football results, gives the coastal tactician a 50/50 hope.

“Negative or positive results, it’s God’s plan. If we lose, then we need to accept the defeat and keep our heads up,” he added.

Villa coach Tom Tera who have been working tirelessly for Zone B victory throughout the season but slipped to Narock based sugar millers, is determined to bag all three points and if the results turn unexpected, he will have to accept and match on to the next fixture.

“We have been preparing well. I would like to call on support from fans and I am hundred percent sure we shall win,” said Tera.

He also urged his boys to focus on better results following their long unpaid dues.

“I had a word with the players and they have promised to leave their financial luggage behind and concentrate on victory,” added Tera.

The winner will join Division One Zone B and A, Mara Sugar and Naivas FC respectively, to the 2021/22 second tier league.
