NSL Review: Agro Chemicals hold leaders Zoo FC
It was a weekend of draws as the National Super League (NSL) entered its eighth round, with five of the nine matches ending in draws.
Agro Chemicals FC were unable to knock Zoo Kericho FC off the summit of the NSL as the two teams settled for a 1-1 draw as Vihiga United were unable to use home ground advantage as they recorded the weekend’s second 1-1 draw against Nzoia Sugar FC.
KCB FC were 2-0 losers at the Kasarani Stadium as the bankers were downed by Nairobi Stima FC while Nakuru All Stars continued their blistering form by arresting Police FC 3-2 in thrilling encounter at the Karuturi Stadium.
Palos FC forced Moyas FC to a 1-1 draw, a third of the weekend as bottom-placed side Modern Coast Rangers continued to disappoint, managing only their first point of the season after a barren draw against Nairobi’s Ligi Ndogo FC at the Mbaraki stadium on Sunday.
Initially scheduled for Saturday the match was rescheduled to Sunday after SportPesa Premier League (SPL) side Bandari officials declined to allow the game take off because the venue was to host KPL clash between the Dockers and Posta Rangers at 3:00pm local time (EAT).
Nakumatt FC continued with their unbeaten run as they beat Talanta FC to move up to fourth position and boost their chances of earning a promotion to the SportPesa Premier League on 12 points, only three points away from leaders Zoo FC.
In another match, Kariobangi Sharks ended their four-match winless streak with a 2-1 win over Wazito FC at the Ruaraka stadium.
