Nzoia out to cage Leopards after picking a point against Ulinzi

Nzoia Sugar FC tactician Collins Omondi has said his team’s goal is to get maximum points from AFC Leopards when the two sides collide this Saturday.

Nzoia held Ulinzi Stars to a 1-1 draw at the Afraha Stadium and Omondi is bullish that his boys can fire on all cylinders in their Saturday assignment against fifth placed Ingwe.

“We are going to score goals, my boys are in good form, we are going to push Leopards to the corner, we have to pocket the three points at any cost,” he said bullisingly.

The Collins Omondi coached side has only won two matches, drawn thrice, and lost six matches so far (W2, D3, L6) after eleven matches of their 2019/20 campaign in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL). Their win was in October against “Batoto Ba Mungu” at Sudi Stadium Bungoma.

Nzoia have only won one match in their last five competitive fixtures against higher ranked sides than themselves, each of this featured over 1.5 match goals.

AFC Leopards has had a good run this season campaign,  managing five wins and losing just two matches in an eleven match tally (W5, D4, L2).

Despite losing just one match of their last six KPL matches since October, Ingwe must still wary. Holding out until full time may be problematic, as they have conceded average of 0.5 goals per game during the 55-75 minute period across the four of the six games sequence.

The Casa Mbungo coached side has scored 14 goals so far which is average 1.27 per game, conceded 9 goals in the campaign which translates to 0.82per game.

The side boosts of a six match clean sheet which translates to 55%.

Stat attack: Seven of Nzoia last eleven matches produced under 2.5 goals. They have however conceded a goal in five of the seven matches but notably the side has only kept a clean sheet in one of the eleven matches.

Players to watch: Collins Wakhungu has scored in most of Nzoia home action and contributed to most of the sides goals, while Whyvonne Isuza has been so instrumental for Leopards, netting a lone goal in Ingwe`s1-0 demolition of struggling Kisumu All-Stars over the weekend.
