Nzoia sign two players from Bungoma Super Stars

Nzoia Sugar have signed two players to tighten their squad as they angle for improved performances in the FKF Premier League.

Joining the outfit are Hillary Simiyu and Kevin Wafula from Bungoma Super Stars.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, Nzoia Sugar head coach Ibrahim Shikanda said the duo has signed five year contracts with the millers, adding that he’s optimistic they’ll have an impressive campaign.

“My aim is to nurture talents and out of them improve the output of the team. I believe that with young talents the team is potentially growing bigger,” he said.

The 25-year-old Hillary Simiyu joined Bungoma Super Stars from Ndivisi United before emerging the division one zone B top scorer in 2018 when he bagged 13 goals.

A renowned playmaker, Kevin Wafula, 26, had been signed by the club from Kitale based side Transfok FC.

According to Shikanda, he signed the duo from Bungoma Super Stars where he had a short stint in 2018 and guided the side up to semifinal of the then Gotv Shield tournament before being eliminated by Kariobangi Sharks.

“Kevin and Hillary have been playing for Bungoma Super Stars for a long time. I know their performance very well because they played under my leadership, this is a plus for Nzoia Sugar FC,” he said.

Nzoia Sugar FC sit 12th on the Football Kenya Federation log with 14points from 12 matches and will play league leaders Tusker at Kasarani Stadium this afternoon.
