He takes over from Nicholas Muyoti who is now managing Kakamega Homeboyz.

Oduor moves to the Bungoma-based outfit after resigning from his position as Kibera Black Stars coach in February. Mokua said Oduor would be deputised at Nzoia Sugar FC by long serving assistant coach Vincent Sifuma.

“We appointed Oduor on merit. He has the qualities of a good coach,” Mokua revealed.

He pointed out that the new coach has not been given stringent targets to meet while with the team.

“We felt it is good to give the coach time with the players instead of piling targets on him. What we require from him is to assist the team finish the league in a respectable position,” the chairman added.

Oduor is best remembered for guiding Kibera Black Stars to the National Super League in 2016. In his first season in the second tier, he finished 10th with 45 points before slipping to 11th last season with a tally of 48 points.

Nzoia, who have lost a massive 11 matches in the current campaign, are currently in 12th position with 32 points from 27 matches in the 18-team league.
