Nzoias Omondi warns Homeboyz ahead of Saturday clash

Nzoia Sugar FC head coach Collins Omondi says the gallant fight against 12-time champions AFC Leopards to earn a draw in the weekend is a catalyst for maximum points as they face Kakamega Homeboyz this Saturday.

Nzoia held the big cats to a 2-2 draw at the Mumias Sports Complex, and Omondi believes Saturday’s result can only be better against the fifth placed Homeboyz.

“We are going for the three points and nothing less. We have to move into a top 10 slot and fight from there. We shall score goals, my boys are in good spirit and you could see it during the Leopards match,” he said.

Nzoia have only won two matches, drawn four times and lost six matches so far after twelve matches of their 2019/20 Kenyan Premier League (KPL) campaign.

Their last win was in October against Sofapaka at the Sudi Stadium Bungoma, and will be aiming to end their winless streak when thay entertain Homeboyz.

On the other hand, Homeboyz has had a good run, registering six wins and losing just three in 11 outings.

However, despite losing just one match of their last five since October, Homeboyz must still be wary of hard fighting Nzoia as they have conceded an average of 0.5 goals per game during the 50-70 minute period across the four of the five games in sequence.

The Kakamega based outfit has scored 20 goals so far which is average 1.82 per game, conceded 15 goals in the campaign which translates to 1.36 per match.

Seven of Nzoia’s last 12 matches produced under 2.5 goals. They have however conceded a goal in five of the seven matches but notably the side has only kept a clean sheet in one of the twelve matches.
