In Summary

  • Wycliffe Ochomo is in line to return to the Bandari FC squad for Thursday’s trip to Tusker after going through an en tire first team training session for the first time on Wednesday since hobbling off during a 4-1 win against AFC Leopards at Mbaraki Sports Club at the weekend.
  • On the other hand, Obungu has admitted they have a tough task against Tusker,  the only KPL side to beat them at Mbaraki last term, noting that they have to be alert to get something from the match.

Wycliffe Ochomo is in line to return to the Bandari FC squad for Thursday’s trip to Tusker after going through an en tire first team training session for the first time on Wednesday since hobbling off during a 4-1 win against AFC Leopards at Mbaraki Sports Club at the weekend.

There were concerns the burly forward could miss the next match with fears that he had suffered a hamstring injury but according to the team manager Wilson Obungu, Ochomo who bagged a brace to help the dockers beat Leopards, is in contention for a starting berth.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, Obungu revealed that Ochomo was among the squad that travelled to the capital ready to face Robert Matano’s side at the Ruaraka grounds.

“He is fit. Of course there were concerns after that match(agaisnt AFC Leopards) because he didn’t train with us the following day. He has however made a quick recovery and looks sharp, fit and ready to play. We are already with him in Nairobi and he will participate in our last training sessions,”Obungu assured .

Ochomo has been on fine form in recent weeks with his brace against Leopards taking his season league tally to four goals and Obungu hopes the forward will help his side to bag more goals, starting with Tusker.

On the other hand, Obungu has admitted they have a tough task against Tusker,  the only KPL side to beat them at Mbaraki last term, noting that they have to be alert to get something from the match.

“We know they are(Tusker) going to make it very difficult for us but we are ready too. It won’t be easy for them too but let’s see what happens.

“Our attacking line can dismantle any defence, in the likes of Abdallah Hassan who assisted all the four goals against Leopards, with Ochomo also fit, we are confident,”added Obungu.

Bandari will go level on points with league leaders Mathare United with a win but Tusker can leapfrog the dockers to second place if they manage a win at home.
