Odhiambo expects Mbaraki facelift to give Bandari FC fresh impetus

Bandari FC head coach Ken Odhiambo has lauded the ongoing refurbishment of the Mbaraki Sports Club in Mombasa terming it as one of the key ingredients that will help the team deliver.

According to Odhiambo who is on his second spell at the club, the play field plays a key role in a football match adding that having a good pitch will help his players enjoy their football while the fans will also enjoy the game thanks to a better environment.

“The pitch is always the first thing in football and we hope the state of the field will give us everything to perform well as supporters enjoy a good game,” stated Odhiambo.

He has at the same time called on the coastal fans to turn out in large numbers once the league resumes, to support the team’s quest for the elusive league title.

Earlier this month the club organizing secretary Dickson Kibagendi said that despite the slow pace of renovations amid Corona virus, they are aiming to install at least 2,400 seats in the first phase of the project.

“We will start with the ready space of 2,400 seats in our first stage before we add many more,” explained Kibagendi.

Bandari twice missed out on chances to host their international matches at the venue as it failed to meet the international standards thus adopting Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi for the CAF matches.
