Okumbi swaps two in Rising Stars squad for Tanzania

Rising Stars head coach Stanely Okumbi has largely maintained the side that beat Zanzibar in their opening match of the CECAFA U-20 Tournament, in his team to face Tanzania on Tuesday, in Jinja -Uganda.

Captain Brian Bwire, Kariobangi Sharks goalkeeper will maintain his place between the sticks with his teammate Sydney Lokale leading the attack from the centre. The Sharks man hit four goals in the opening match against Zanzibar.

Okumbi has however relegated Alvin Ochieng to the bench, his place taken by Brian Wepo with another change seeing John Njuguna paving way for Austine Otieno.

“I was happy with not only the result but also the overall performance of the team,” said coach Stanley Okumbi.

He added, “Tanzania is a good side if their performance in the opening match is anything to go by. We will be out to give a good account of ourselves and I’m confident we will get a good result.”

Tanzania also won in their opener against Ethiopia, humbling them 4-0.
