Oliech out of Mashemeji derby as Oktay names squad for duel

It is now official. Talisman Dennis ‘The Menace’ Oliech will play no role in the 85^th Mashemeji derby pitting Gor Mahia against AFC Leopards after he was left out of the 18-man squad.

Oliech is sidelined with to a deep cut on his leg, picked during a training session at Camp Toyoyo grounds.

Coach Hassan Oktay has in the meantime made only three changes to the team that clobbered Zamalek 4-2 at the same venue last Sunday.

Ernest Wendo is back to the squad replacing Lawrence Juma, while Haron Shakava and Joash Onyango are set to partner at the heart of defence, replacing Joachim Oluoch and Charles Momanyi who both start on the bench.

The match kicks off at 3pm, at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, with Gor, placed fourth on 19 points, aiming to make further in-roads in the title chase.

Leopards on the other hand are rooted at position 15 on the table on 10 points.
