Oliech ‘The Menace’ set to pen deal with Gor Mahia
Dennis “The Menace” Oliech is this afternoon expected to sign a deal with Kenya’s glamour club Gor Mahia.
According to a club source who spoke to Citizen Digital on condition of anonymity, Oliech has impressed the K’Ogalo technical bench and what remains is tying the loose ends.
“Basically, the technical bench is happy with him.The coach said he’s got the talent and the touch and he needs to work on is his fitness,”said the source.
“He is expected to sign this afternoon once he meets the club chairman,”added the source.
Oliech who plied his professional trade in France with a number of clubs including FC Nantes, Auxerre and AC Ajaccio, is expected to pocket around Ksh 3.5 million in sign-on-fee and a monthly salary of Ksh 300,000.
Gor has of late struggled upfront and the addition of Oliech, an all-time Harambee Stars top scorer with 34 goals in 72 appearances, is expected to inject fire upfront.
K’Ogalo have only collected 3 points in three matches and are placed 13th on the league table.
Oliech’s last appearance for the national team was in September 6, 2015 against Zambia’s Chipolopolo in an African Cup of Nations qualifier at the Nyayo National Stadium, where Harambee Stars fell 2-1. The team was then under the management of ex- Stars coach, Scot Bobby Williamson.
