Olympic Champion Castigate Athletes over Doping

Bungei said that the cases that have put the country under sharp focus by IAAF have demoralised athletes.

Speaking during the Viewerthon event at Tortoise Hotel in Kapsabet, the 2008 Olympic champion also criticised athletes, accused of doping, for wanting to win without training hard.

Bungei said that the results were discouraging but he is optimistic that Kenyan athletes will focus on hard work instead of using shortcuts such as doping.

Viewerthon is a live viewing event where Kenya’s elite and upcoming athletes watch races in major series on live television while also learning about investment and banking.

Other athletes present at the ‘Viewerthon’ were Ernest Kebenei and Paralympian Abraham Tarbei.
