Omanyala breaks 10-second barrier in Austria

National 100m record holder Ferdinand Omanyala has finally managed to run under 10 seconds over the 100m race.

Omanyala, who shattered his Kenyan record twice at the recently concluded Tokyo Olympics clocked 9.86 seconds in a race held Saturday in Austria.

Prior to the finals, Omanyala had already dipped under 10-seconds when he ran 9.96 seconds.

The 25-year-old reached the semi-final stage at Tokyo Games where he clocked 10.00 seconds just a day after equalling his national record of 10.01 during the heats.
