“It was disappointing to be left out. I’m a competitor and I always want to be there and help the team and win but that’s not always how the game goes.”

“Even out of football such things happen, what I always know is that I’m very hard working and will stay disciplined and with faith I will make a comeback to the national team,” he said .

The 23-year- old gained international fame in Brazil in 2014 when, as a substitute, he became the country’s youngest-ever World Cup goalscorer, his goal against Russia earned Belgium a place into the second round.

Asked about which team he thinks will lift the World Cup title, Origi was very careful with his choice.

“Brazil has a very good team, Belgium too. Germany, as usual, very organized.  Spain with a lot of talent, but Brazil looks like they have something special this time round.”

In Africa, Egypt, because of Salah, but Nigeria are also a good side ,”he said in an interview Citizen TVs’ Bernard Ndong  .
