Otieno, Juma on the score-sheet as Tusker sink Sofapaka

Sofapaka suffered a 2-1 defeat to Tusker FC on Monday, in a rescheduled Kenyan Premier League (KPL) clash staged at the Ruaraka grounds, extending their losing streak to two matches in a row.

John Baraza’s men took the lead in the 37th minute through Kevin Kimani’s strike but Timothy Otieno equalised from the spot after Batoto Ba Mungu defenders handled the ball inside the penalty area, just two minutes later.

Two minutes before the breather, David Juma scored the decisive goal for Robert  Matano’s side which secured all the three points with Otieno involved again for the brewers second goal.

Heavy rains at the Ruaraka Grounds on Sunday meant the clash of the weekend had to be rescheduled, before a nod was given for it to be staged at the same grounds.

The 2009 champions lost 2-0 to Sony Sugar last week, further weakening their chances of chasing runaway leaders Gor Mahia.

However, Sofapaka remain second but are now one point above Bandari FC and AFC Leopards respectively, while Tusker moved to eighth with 33 points.

With only one loss in seven matches, Tusker appears to have rediscovered rhythm under tactician
