Our tactics hurt Bandari, Ulinzi coach Nyaudo gloats
Pushing Bandari into their own half helped Ulinzi Stars beat league leaders Bandari FC at their Nakuru based Afraha Stadium.
According to Ulinzi Stars head coach Dunstan Nyaudo, his players played as per his instructions with a clear knowledge the Dockers would crumble at the sustained pressure.
‘’We knew how Bandari play and they were coming for a draw and by pushing them we knew they wouldl allow some (goals) and that’s how we won,” said Nyaudo.
On his part, Bandari team manager Wilson Obungu attributed the defeat to bad luck, adding that they aren still on course for the title.
“Every team playing against us put all their efforts knowing our capability, so we need to put our heads together and come up with other tricks to ensure we win matches,” said Obungu.
The weekend game against the military side exploded in the second half with all the three goals coming after the 54th minute, Enosh Ochieng duly dispatching following a transgression by Bernard Odhiambo.
Yema Mwama hauled the KPL leaders back on level terms in the 70th minute but the hosts that had the final word as Ezekiel Okare tucked away the winner with only five minutes left on the clock.
At Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega , Vihiga United won 2-1 against Zoo Kericho with Christopher Masinza and Dennis Wafula getting on the score-sheet while Danson Chetambe converted a late penalty for a consolation goal to the visitors.
At the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos, KCB climbed off the relegation zone with a 2-0 victory over Nzoia Sugar thanks to goals from Bethwel Warambo and Chrispinus Odhiambo.
At the same venue, ten-man AFC Leopards made it two wins in two after thumping Tusker 2-1 while Kariobangi Sharks failed to go past mail men Posta Rangers in a 0-0 stalemate.
Sofapaka FC rose to third on league standings following a 3-0 demolition of Chemelil Sugar at the Chemelil Sports Complex. Pistone Mutamba’s double and a Stephen Waruru strike inspired the victory.
After the weekend games, Bandari still lead the log on 32 points, one more than Mathare who have played a game more as the Batoto Ba Mungu wrap up the top three brackets on 30 points after 17 rounds.
