Pamzo says no talks to join Gor amid speculation

Posta Rangers head coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo has denied reports linking him to the post as Gor Mahia FC’s assistant coach.

Earlier this week, Gor Secretary General Sammy Ocholla told Citizen Digital the club was holding talks with Pamzo to deputise for the newly appointed head coach Carlos Manuel Vas Pinto.

But the Rangers tactician, who was Gor’s stand-in coach during the CAF Champions League campaign, says he is committed to his work at his current club.

“I’ve not held any talks with Gor. I have a contract with Posta Rangers which I’m committed. I’m happy at Posta and focused to achieve a lot with this club,” Omollo said.

Gor will face Napsa from Zambia on the 14th of next month in the CAF Confederation Cup qualifying s cup with the return leg seven days later and Pamzo says he does not think he will be involved again.

“The previous agreement was between the management of the two clubs and it happened because their previous coach had issues with his papers but now they have qualified coach and I don’t think the same will happen.”

On Wednesday Posta were held to a 1-1 draw against Zoo Kericho and Omollo admits they are struggling to score goals.

“Our main challenge is the striking force because we can’t finish off even the games that we dominate. Most of our goals have come from midfield and I believe we will improve our attack,” the former Kenyan international added.

Posta sit 12th on the FKF-PL standings ahead of Sunday’s trip to Vihiga United.
