Harambee Stars head coach Sebastian Migne is confident that Kenya will qualify for CHAN to be played next year in Ethiopia.
Speaking after having his first training with his local based players at the Kenya School of Monetary Studies, Migne said his current players are up to the task.
“l have a good team here and I am sure of good results. We have experienced players too with us in the team and all we want is to win,” said the Stars coach.
Migne adds that he doesn’t need the services of Gor Mahia striker Dennis Oliech in his team even though he has got a lot of experience saying the player needs to score goals for his club and not only on penalties.
“Oliech is a good player yes, he has massive experience but I don’t need him for now and if l will need him in the future, I will look for him. For now, he needs to score goals for his club and not just penalties’ added the coach.
Commenting on AFCON, the Frenchman hopes to go past group stages: “I can say it will be difficult to win the AFCON trophy because we might not have a lot of experience but our target is to go past group stages and leave a mark that Kenya is back.”
Meanwhile, Migne says if the Ministry of Sports does not address his salary issues on time, he wouldn’t rule out ending his contract with Football Federation saying he has received a lot of offers from different countries after winning against Ghana.
“If your employer doesn’t pay you what would you do, you would try to get another job isn’t it? You should know I have received a lot of requests after winning against Ghana,” he told Citizen Digital.
Harambee Stars will play Ghana in their final match AFCON qualifier March although they have already qualified for the tournament that takes place in June in Egypt.
