Gor Mahia lead striker Jacques Tuyisenge is inching closer to sealing a deal with Petro of Angola with a staggering Sh15 million offer on the table from the Angolan outfit.

Petro who were knocked out of the run for a CAF Confederations Cup quarter finals ticket by Gor Mahia are keen admirers of the Rwandan hit man, and have made him a top transfer target as they bid to bolster their ranks ahead of another assault in Africa.

Tuyisenge’s contract with the Kenyan glamour club who this week sealed a record 18th Kenyan Premier League title expires on  January 30, 2020 and according to sources within the club, the  Kenyan giants are likely to play ball owing to the ‘attractive offer’ on the table.

“The club executive met yesterday (Friday) to look at the offer. The Angolan outfit (Petro) have also stated that in future, should they sell Tuyisenge to another club then Gor stands to pocket 20 percent of the transfer fee,” said the club source who did wish to be identified so as not to jeopardise the talks.

Selling the Rwandan, who joined Gor Mahia in January 2016 at such a figure would be seen as a major gain for Gor who acquired him for just Sh.4 million from Rwandan outfit Police, after a starring role for his national team, the Amavubi, at the 2015 Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup in Ethiopia. He renewed his engagement with the club in 2017 for two years at Sh3million.

Tuyisenge has been one of the standout performers helping Gor reach the Confederations Cup quarter finals this term besides winning three league titles and his exit will be a major jolt in the team’s attack unit.

The future of play-maker Francis Kahata is also unclear as the top club hierarchy are understood to want him out.

Kahata, a former Thika United man is a free agent as his engagement with the club lapses on June 30. He’s among the players who have been accused of instigating unrest in the playing unit moreso after the infamous trip to Berkane, Morocco.

Club head coach Hassan Oktay has however jumped his defence insisting that he should not be punished.
