Kenyan athletes were accorded a grand reception when they arrived at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi Tuesday morning from the IAAF World Athletics Championships that were held in Beijing, China.

Deputy President William Ruto, Nairobi Senator Mike Mbuvi ‘Sonko’, governors, senators, and MPs among other top government officials were at hand to receive the team in the colourful event.

Kenya emerged top of the world after beating the likes of Jamaica, U.S. and Britain among others having garnered 16 medals (7 gold, 6 silver and 3 bronze).
