Pipeline, Prisons make light work of opponents at KVF play-offs

Volleyball giants Kenya Prisons and their nemesis Kenya Prisons registered huge wins in their opening matches of the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) league playoffs on Saturday evening at the Kasarani Indoor Arena.

Prisons schooled KCB 3-0 as the warders were the better side from the onset dispatching the bankers in three straight sets of 25-12, 25-18, 25-20.

KCB head coach David Muthui conceded defeat blaming it on ‘minor’ mistakes as well as fatigue on his players.

“Although we improved in the last two sets I think we were not good enough especially in reception and blocks. We are looking to improve on that but the most important thing is that we are still alive in the competition,” said Muthui.

KCB will next face defending champions Kenya Pipeline on Sunday before winding up the competition with a match against debutants Bungoma County.

At the same venue Pipeline made a light work of newcomers Bungoma County thrashing the latter 3-0 ( 25-15, 25- 18, 25-17).

Pipeline will next face KCB on Sunday before they settle it out with their eternal foes Prisons on Monday.
