Plateau Queens set up Chapa Dimba final with Tartar

Tartar Girls from Rift Valley will square it off with Nyanza’s Plateau Queens in the Safaricom Chapa Dimba tournament after brushing aside their semis opponents on Friday.

A total KSh1 million and a golden opportunity to go to London for one-week training camp and mentorship program in April will be at stake when the two clash at the Bukhungu Stadium on Sunday.

Tartar secured their finals ticket after defeating Bishop Njenga 2-0 in the first semi-final thanks to goals in either half from Martha Nanjala and Lindi Nanjala.

Plateau Queens were in unforgiving mood as they demolished Limuru Starlets 6-0 in the other semi with Mercy Akinyi netting a hatrick.

Plateau Queens head coach George Omondi warned his charges to expect a tough final but challenged them to complete job on Sunday.

“I’m happy we’re in the final. I know Tartar Girls is not an easy team but as a team we are going to exploit their weaknesses and strike. Most of my girls come from very humble background and it will be a huge motivation to win the tournament,” Omondi said.

Tartar coach Julius Natoka attributed focus for their impressive run and declared they are ready to face their opponents.

On Saturday’s boys semis, Mukumu Boys will face Gor Mahia Youth while Kapenguria Heroes face off Ombek Red Devils.
