Dull Stars dim further in Fifa ranking
Kenya’s Fifa ranking has nosedived from position 88 to 102 in the latest findings published by the world soccer governing body on Monday.
The Stars have been on a poor run of late, losing 2-1 to Iraq and 1-0 to Thailand in recent international matches.
The Iraqi who beat the Stars are placed 80, while Tunisia is now the top ranked team in the continent at position 28 globally.
The Stars poor run has led to heightened calls for the exit of head coach Stanley Okumbi, though his master, Nick Mwendwa, has categorically insisted that he is “here to stay”.
In the Cecafa region, Uganda Cranes have maintained their consistency in the past three years nailing position 70, with Zambia, a frequent guest team in the competition, seven slots below them.
Continentally, Tunisia’s Carthage Eagles are the highest ranked team at position 28 globally, as Egypt (30), Senegal (32), DR Congo (35), and Nigeria (41), following in that order .
Germany, who are the world defending champions top the grid followed closely by an improved Brazil, Portugal Argentina and Belgium.
