Preparations in top gear ahead of Mombasa County Games

Preparations are in top gear for the Mombasa County Secondary School Term 2 games to be held from June 6-8 at different venues in Mombasa.

According to Mombasa Secondary Schools Association secretary Sila Atsulu, they are well prepared to deliver as they have identified four different fields to be used for the  games.

“Everything is set for the games as all schools have submitted their players ready for the Thursday to Friday games,” said Atsulu.

Tudor Day Secondary, Tudor Primary, Khamis High and Makande Primary will host football games for both boys and girls as Mbaraki Primary host netball games.

Atsulu insisted that Mombasa county is going back to its reigning days and the winners will give stiff competition to their competitors when they battle it out at the regional games.

“We know we will parade strong teams in Malindi for the regional games because we have strong teams from different sub-counties here,” said Atsulu.

According to the pooling of Under 19 football boys, on form Serani Secondary of Mvita sub county will battle for regional slot in Group B alongside Kisauni’s Shimo la Tewa, Bomu Secondary of Changamwe and Likoni’s Mrima.

In girls under 19 football, St Teresa, Mtongwe, Valerye and Coast Girls are in Pool A while Kajembe, Mama Ngina and Mwakirunge are listed in Group B.

In netball girls’ category, Valerye, Mtongwe, St Charles and Mama Ngina are in Group A while Al farsy are in Group B, which also consists of Miritini Secondary and Hassan Joho Girls.

In Kwale County, East Africa and national secondary schools football champions Kwale Girls High School will be out to defend their supremacy on the same dates.

Schools in the county will converge at Mazeras Boys and Mazeras Memorial tomorrow ahead of the action that starts on Thursday to Saturday.

Kilifi County will hold its games at Malindi High which will also act as the venue for the regional games later this month.
