Prisons, Pipeline advance as Group winners in Egypt
Kenya Prisons and Kenya Pipeline each earned their fourth wins at the ongoing CAVB Women’s African Club Championship to finish top of their respective groups in Cairo, Egypt.
Prisons needed 71 minutes to see off Cameroon’s Injs 3-0 (25-16, 25-17, 25-14) to soar top of Pool D as their compatriots Pipeline outclassed another Cameroonian opposition FAP 3-0 (25-12, 25-16, 25-16) in Pool C.
The Kenyans, who share 12 continental titles between them, had already sealed last eight qualification after winning all three of their opening matches with the result effectively meaning they will avoid each other having gone through as group winners.
Against Injs, Prisons big gun Mercy Moim rallied Prisons to the win, scoring 21 points while Suzanne Ngo was the best scorer for the losing side with 8.
