Western Stima head coach Richard Makumbi has called on his strikers to pull- up their socks after failing to shine in the first leg.

Makumbi’s sentiments come in the wake of Stima’s tame barren draw against Bidco United in weekend’s league encounter.

Stima has struggled to score goals in their last six fixtures; drawing four of them, a reality that underlines the club’s lack of spine in attack.

And Makumbi is not particularly impressed with his forwards criticizing their failure to get the back of the net when most needed.

The power men have so far scored just 29 goals in 19 matches, while conceding 13 in the process.

“My strikers are not aggressive enough. Most of the goals are scored by the midfielders. I think our opponents are aware of this and it could be our undoing.”

The team’s latest falter At the weekend saw them drop to the second position on 37 points, one behind leaders Ushuru.

The outspoken Makumbi is particularly concerned that the recent slump in form could affect his charges.

“We are playing in a competitive league but what I want to assure our fans is that we will get back to the Kenya Premier League. There is no pressure on our side but our aim is to win all our remaining fixtures,”he said.

Stima has so far bolstered their squad by signing three new players in Clifford Ochieng, Lewis Oginga and John Nyaberi.

“We will perform better than we did in the first leg, I urge the fans to turn out in large numbers,”added Mukumbi.

Stima’s next assignment will be against league leaders Ushuru on June 30.
