Quins bolster squad as action resumes on Kenya Cup

Kenya Harlequins have bolstered their squad with four new signings ahead of the resumption of Kenya Cup this weekend.

New signings Cyprian Kuto (Menengai Homeboyz), Alex Olaba (Strathmore Leos), Mtalaheri Mathew (Impala Saracens), and Ugandan David Semwani will form part of the new-look of the Ngong road based team.

The return of Kenya Simba utility back Cyprian “Manguvuman” Kuto to the squad will be a huge boost to a team that has lost crucial points in the first round of the Kenya cup.

Kuto had featured for Harlequins in the 2012-2013 season before moving to campus boys, Strathmore Leos, and later on, moved to Homeboyz and was part of the “2016 magic team” that lifted the sevens circuit crown.

The burly forward will definitely bring in experience pace, discipline, and leadership to the squad.

The inclusion of Olaba from Strathmore Leos and Ugandan David Semwani from Rhino RFC adds more depth to the team.

Semwani will link up with his fellow countrymen Aaron Ofoyrowth, Ronald Mussaja, Solomon Okia and Joseph Aredo.

The new signings, if selected, will make their debut this Saturday as they face Kabras Sugar at the Kakamega showground on Saturday.

Fourth place Harlequins have tasted defeat once against Menengai Homeboyz and will be out to build on an early momentum as the league enters its home stretch.

Kabras Sugar, on the other hand, are among the two teams that have managed to record 100 percent results in the first four games of the season and losing to Harlequins will not be part of their strategy.
