Rachier: None of my players is joining Zico at KCB

Gor Mahia chairman Ambrose Rachier has scoffed at speculation that up to five of his players could be on their way out of the club to join former assistant coach Zedekiah Otieno who has since been confirmed as KCB head coach a day after resigning from the league champions.

Rachier says he has only received official resignation letter from “Zico” and no player has approached his office with the intent of leaving the club.

“I can confirm receipt of Zedekiah ‘’Zico’’ Otieno’s resignation letter but to-date no player has approached my office with any kind of transfer request,’’ he explained.

In the meantime, Rachier has stated that they are in the process of scouting for two new strikers from either local or foreign leagues following the departure of lead striker Jacques Tuyisenge.

Tuyisenge left the Kenyan champions to join Petro Atletico of Angola in a land mark Sh15m deal. Rachier further said they are also planning to beef up the defence and midfield as the head coach will advise.

“We shall definitely release a number of players but we are waiting for the coach to return from holiday on the 24th of this month so that he can advise on which players to be axed and the ones to be recruited,’’ added Rachier.

K’Ogalo will have their first big assignment next month when they represent the country at the CECAFA Club Championship in Rwanda.
