Egyptian fans at the Moscow Fan Fest believe it would have been a different story altogether had Liverpool star Mohammed Salah featured in their Group ‘A’ clash against Uruguay.

The Pharaohs were unable to hold Uruguay  as Jose Giminez scored the lone goal at the death to complicate the matrix for the Pharaohs in the unpredictable group that also has host Russia and Saudi Arabia.

Speaking to Citizen Digital after the match, a tearful fan described Spain and Real Madrid captain as an ‘animal’, owing to the fact he injured Salah in the UEFA Champions League final in May, hence his absence in the mouthwatering duel.

“He (Ramos) is a bloody animal, he denied Salah a place in the team today, he denied him the Uefa Champions League final glory he deserved… he has denied us (Egypt) the win. Salah would have delivered,” the emotional fan cried out.

The 2017-2018 English Premier League player of the season and Golden Boot winner injured his shoulder in the Kiev UCL final after a scuffle with Ramos, an incident described by many as ‘malicious’ .

Cameras  captured Sala regretfully reacting after Jose Giminez scored at the death to deny the Pharaohs at least a share of spoils, in their first World Cup match since 1990.

A ray of hope shone over Egypt on Thursday when head coach Hector Cupper announced Salah was fit to feature for his country in the match, only to bench him later.

The Egyptians at the Moscow FIFA Fan Fest cheered on Portugal when the European champions locked horns with Spain later on Friday, showing the joy of humiliation mercurial Cristiano Ronaldo was subjecting Ramos to, as he scored a hat-trick in the 3-3 stalemate.

“We know he was the man tasked with the job to stop Ronaldo, and it’s sweet to see he could not stop him,” another fan exclaimed.

Just before Word Cup kick-off, Ramos opened up about Salah’s injury absolving himself from the global criticism that has earned him millions of enemies.
