Recovering Kadenge wants friends at his hospital bed

Harambee Stars legend Joe Kadenge is progressing well in his second week of treatment at the Nairobi Hospital.

Kadenge, 82, injured himself after collapsing at home and has been in hospital since then, doctors treating blood pressure and diabetes related complications.

The former Kenyan international hit the headlines earlier this year after collapsing when watching a football match at the Camp Toyoyo grounds in Jericho-Nairobi.

Kadenge had his wish granted when President Uhuru Kenyatta and Nairobi Senator Mike ‘Sonko’ Mbuvi paid him a courtesy call at his home in Mariakani residence, South B earlier this year.

The visit was a blessing to the ailing football icon, as Kenyatta directed provision of a comprehensive insurance cover with the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF).

A brilliant footballer in his prime, Kadenge’s health has been deteriorating and has been in and out of hospital in the recent past.

In his message to the public, Kadenge has requested his friends who he has not heard from to visit him even in his difficult times.
