Bungoma Queens are seeking to boost their survival chances in the Kenya Women Premier League, when they face in-form Vihiga Queens this weekend.

With their eyes set on victory to guarantee survival in the top league, the team is leaving no stone unturned in their preparations.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, Bungoma Queens Head Coach, Robert Machio, affirmed that his side is poised to give their all on the pitch in a must-win encounter.

Acknowledging the formidable challenge posed by Vihiga Queens, Machio emphasized the need for extra effort from his players.

"We are working on concentration because we failed to collect maximum points in our previous match against Nakuru Queens. If we can concentrate for at least 85 minutes on our defense, then that will be fine and we can hold Vihiga Queens. So far the team is rejuvenated with no major injury concerns," Machio said.

Machio understands the strength of their opponents but remains undeterred, rallying his team to rise to the occasion and collect maximum points at stake.

"Vihiga Queens are a good team both physically and mentally. They have a good coach but for us it is a must win match. We will be going for at least a point to boost our survival hopes," Machio added.

Reflecting on their previous match against Nakuru Queens, Machio highlighted the defensive lapses that resulted in a frustrating 2-2 draw.

Learning from their mistakes, the team is diligently working on rectifying their defensive errors, to ensure a solid performance against Vihiga Queens.

With Bungoma currently placed 8th on the log with 16 points, Machio says every match is crucial in their quest to secure their place in the league next season.

Vihiga Queens find themselves in a more comfortable position, occupying 2nd place on the log with 37 points.

However, they trail league leaders, Kenya Police Bullets, by 6 points, but with one game in hand.
