Relentless Malkia Strikers spike Senegal, storm to African Games semis

Malkia Strikers kept the title defence hopes alive after they humbled Senegal 3-0 (25-11, 25-15, 25-12) to storm to the semi finals of the ongoing African Games at the Salle Bouaazaoui Indoor Arena  here in Rabat, Morocco.

It was a second consecutive win for the Bitok-coached team after they edged Cameroon 3-1 in their first match to finish top of Pool B.

Bitok made a few changes in his starting line up opting to introduce youngster Sharon Chepchumba and Janet Wanja in place of Edith Wisa and Jane Wacu respectively who were given the nod against Cameroon.

Kenya were the better team from the onset of the match comfortably sweeping the first set 25-11 as the West Africans had nothing much to offer.

It is in the second set that Senegal started brightly in the early stages before fading off as Malkia Strikers took charge with Chepchumba shining with her strong right-hand spikes went unanswered.

Kenya and Cameroon  proceed to the last four from Pool B where they will face the two top teams from Pool A at the semis slated for Wednesday.
