AFC Leopards is keen to amass maximum points in the remaining fixtures as they eye a respectable finish in the 18-team Kenyan Premier League.

Leopards football operations manager Tom Juma has however said that they have massive respect for tomorrow’s opponents, Nzoia Sugar FC, whom they  confront at the Bukhungu Stadium,Kakamega from 1pm.

“We are facing each game with an aim of registering maximum points so as to continue climbing up the log.

“The team has improved collectively with every player putting in a shift, something that has positively helped us,” Juma observed.

Moreover, the former international has hailed the resilience of Ingwe players led by the returnee and speedy winger Paul Were and newly acquired defender David ‘Cheche’ Owino, as well as the red-hot goal poacher Wyvonne Isuza, who have all  played a big role in Leopards change of fortunes.

“The entire team has done its best and what we are focusing on is to keep on improving although it is not going to easy as other teams are also working hard to win,”he added.

Their Wednesday opponents Nzoia Sugar have registered mixed results, the latest being a 2-1 win over Chemelil Sugar; making it three wins in five matches, and are a tricky side for Leopards to face.

This comes after Ingwe’s  outstanding performance, a 2-1 victory over Bandari FC on Sunday that took them to position 10, two points above Nzoia Sugar.

Leopards has not tested defeat since March 13 when they were beaten 2-0 by the John Barasa led Sofapaka FC.
